Weekend ..

Last weekend was interesting. Apart from the fact that my Cable Modem broke down and I have to hop cafe for a few days before new one ships to me,  I was able to cut down few tasks off my "historic  but still alive to-do list"!

I had accepted the role for VP, Education in our Amazon toastmasters club. So on Sat I attended the leadership conference at Microsoft Campus where I heard some good speeches and also learnt a bit more about toastmaster and the responsibilities of the board members. One task done for this tenure. I plan to do more and write more about the progress of the activities and fun.

I accompanied a friend who bought a new Infinity Car and we went to get Indian Groceries. Ah I was missing all that maggie and Maza magic since long .. So I got stuff worth around $150 .. all those Indian ready-to eats and also saunf :) . To top that , she treated me with nice Indian chaat .. panipuri, aloo chaat and mango lassi !! yay !!

I was finally so happy that my Zip Car membership was approved. They needed my Indian driving history and I knew no "maai ka laal" would be able to get any driving history, if such thing exists at all, from the corrupt RTO office in India. So I had given up on the zip car thing until I get a WA state license. However, I got a call that they need a copy of my driving license and they assumed that it will have driving history. I sent a copy of my reduced driving license and they approved my application !! ha ha .

So today I rented a mini-bus  like looking huge car called toyota prius and had my first ride in US [my indian driving experience was limited to a driving class]. For the first time I noticed cops-cars on the road and around me .. as if suddenly they started appearing from no-wehere. In fact I am noticing them even from the coffee shop now !!. My friend was supposed to be the car  instructor and she did a good job I should say. However, she kept on saying omg, oh-no,  while I was saying dont worry everything is under control all the time !!. I wonder how does instructor thing work :P. She was pretty brave I would say, however, when I told her that I had not taken any driving lessons before .. I could see her almost fainting :P. Driving was fun and I cant wait to do more and try new cars.

Oh ..and did I mention that I finally did my laundry, transferred money back home [Canadian dollar is at all time high!], pay all my bills , claim reimbursements, do Visa appointment stuff  for dad and mom, watch a bollywood movie in theater and stuff alike !!. One of the better weekend I guess.

P.S:
Does anyone know how to reduce the work backlog that you think you would get done over the weekend but dont even start until Sun night !! ??
