In the past, I used to carry a coin which was lucky for me and would often flip it to decide things or know the future, just for fun !. Not the major decisions but kinda ones outside control and when either outcome is acceptable. However, I lost my coin last year somewhere :(
Incidentally I was talking to a friend that this silver coin can be my lucky coin!!. Just because, it sounds so cool to have a "silver", "antique" coin as a lucky coin :). So I told my friend that I need to find out if the coin can take place of my old lucky coin and for that I would have to flip it for something that has a chance [probability] and is out of my control. Now if you are following my blog since last few weeks,I had written how I am tired -LINK of USCIS taking all the time in the world to give me my EAD card.
So here's what I did. I flipped the coin and said
"Tails for getting my EAD approval this week !!"The coin flipped to tails!. Now it was a fair test to see if the coin is actually lucky or for that matter predicts stuff about me :). The EAD card can technically take more 60 days after Aug 11 and I have no control to influence the decision or expedite the process.Moreover, since I have already stopped work at IBM this Friday and was hating not being able to begin work for more 2 months :(
I checked the status and before 24 hrs of flipping the coin , the EAD is approved [on the same date of flipping the coin] and its already on its way. YAY !! So the coin is accurate and may be it is lucky as well :) We will see with more litmus tests :). But as of now the coin is my Octopus Paul !!
P.S: If anyone of you wants to predict future, just let me know :)
Do a flip to predict whether my H1 get approved in the next 2 months!

I remember you giving me one coin... or declaring one of my coins as a lucky one... when you were here... I never used it though :)
ReplyDeleteThere you go .. You wasted a fortune!. If you get a coin for free just out of somewhere unexpected .. its already been lucky to you .. so I think it has a good chance to be lucky :)
