CloudCamp

One fun thing about being in Seattle and in Amazon is that you get to attend events every now and then about cloud computing etc. Like yesterday I attended CloudCamp event in Seattle.

I have attended meetings of Seattle AWS group before but this event was larger and better. Though it was not official company event people from many good companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc along with budding start-ups were at the event. The fun part was the co-ordinator of the event who was very lively and kept the energy high. This is how the event was organized in a different manner and made it fun:

Presentations:
Each presenter just had just 5 mins to talk !about their product what they are doing etc !!. This made unnecessary words to be filtered and to the point talks.

Un-Pannel: The co-ordinator called out people who thought they are experts in cloud computing. 8 ppl raised their hands and they became the pannel. Now audience gave 8 questions and each pannel member would pick 1 out of it and answer it in 1 min !!. Things started getting interesting here.
Un-Conference: People called upon to give topics for discussions. 8-10 were proposed. people formed groups and went to meeting room to discuss the topics of their interest of the 8 selected. 4 in first half and hour 4 in later. It was good to have startups and big companies geeks together in one room with no rules !!
Drinks and Dinner: There you go . .the best part :). There was a dinner before and then we all went for drinks to a near by place "on the sponsors" :). Best part, I had iced wine almost a year after I tasted it in Canada!!

P.S:
