Seattle ..

Seattle gets beautiful day by day as I explore it more !!. As I already mentioned I am living in belltown which is very lively. The place is the birthplace of, Starbucks and Seattle's Best, Coffee shops and its full of small to large coffee shops which serve nice roasted coffee and freshly baked items. The great thing is all of them have free wifi although many of them have a traditional or rural indoors. Though I should mention here is I miss Tim Horton's :(

Another striking part is the transportation. The transportation in main area is free from 10am - 7 pm !!. Everything is connected by bus, trams and rail that runs on a bridge on 3rd Avenue and offcourse boats and ships which I haven't got on. This makes commute extremely easy . In-fact I end up walking around 4-6 km daily around the place because everything is like a big market and you do not feel like stopping and taking a bus !!

One more interesting part about living here is taxes !!!!. There is no State Income Tax so you just pay the federal Tax !!. There are no sales taxes on groceries !!. I was surprised to see a separate grocery section in my bill from 'Target' which was non-taxable as opposed to around 12.5% that was charged in Toronto!. One side effect of this is food items are very affordable bec of no tax and big farmers market in the area !!. You can easily get lunch from $5 - $20 depending upon your choice of food and place!!

P.S: Coming form India, I am not very fond of hot Sunny Climate. I like the pleasant and bit cloudy weather here. I don't know if its the lake or something else but air remains fresh and cool. They say its gets very cloudy and rainy during winters !!. Summer please stay more .... I have just come here :(
